We had a great time at the annual MOPS Kick-Off Picnic.

The moms had just as much fun as the kids.

The giant sand box is always a hit with the kids.

Moms got to know each other while the kids enjoyed Popsicles.

It was a warm but beautiful day!

Big Ticket Prize: Bowling Party

Congrat's to B.B. and his mom, P.B., on winning the HUGE PRIZE!

 

 

We had a "Big Ticket Prize" last year in MOPS.

 

Each time you attend a MOPS event (meeting, play date, set-up, mom's night out) you earn one ticket.

 

 

 

Each ticket earns you an entry in our large prize drawing in May.

 

 

 

Last year the grand prize was a 30 minute massage gift card from Massage Envy, a Panera Bread meal, and a Bowling Party at Mission Bowl (in Olathe) for 10 kids valued over over $200!

 

 

 

She was kind enough to share with some other MOPS families and we had a great time!

 

 

 

We already have something in mind for the "Big Ticket Prize" to be given away in May 2013!

 

 

 

You can start earning tickets today - anyone who pays online before the first meeting on September 4th will receive a ticket!

 

 

 

We will also be giving out tickets at each meeting and MOPS event during the year.

 

The kids also enjoyed dancing to the music!

We Are Moving!!

We have big news!

We will no longer be meeting in our long term home, room 216!

 

Goodbye Room 216!  (Moving Day!)

Our group will now be meeting in the Journey Worship Center!!

This will be easier to find, more convenient to get to, and will offer many benefits for our group!

It will also provide very easy access from elevators and the main stairs in the atrium!

Our MOPPETS program will be moved to the same area as MOPS; allowing our kids to be just across the hall, as always!

We will have signs to direct you the first day of MOPS but we assure you it is easy to find!

Enter the church through the main doors and walk straight towards the cafe.

You will see a large staircase in the atrium (you can't miss it!).  Walk down the stairs and we will be there to help you check in your children.

The Journey Worship Center is on the right.

For elevator access - enter the main doors and the elevators are towards the back on your left (left of the cafe and large atrium stairs).

Take elevator to the basement and we will be there ready to check in your children.

Would you like to be a guest blogger?  Anyone can submit an article for the newsletter or blog.  The topic must help encourage and support other mothers.

Pictures:

Do you have pictures from a play date or mom's night out?  Submit them and they may end up on our blog or the end of the year video scrapbook.

Suggestions:

What information would you like to see on the blog?  We are always open to ideas.

MOPS Convention 2012

 The Steering Team had the privilege of attending the MOPS Convention in Grapevine, TX last weekend.

To say it was life changing is an understatement.

Each mom was touched emotionally and spiritually in a unique and special way.

 

We are back and rejuvenated as mothers, wives, and leaders.

And we cannot wait to Plunge into MOPS this year!

We stayed at the beautiful Gaylord Resort and Hotel

And we had a blast!

We had a chance to get to know each other better.

And it was an unforgettable weekend.

F.S. (aka 'The Baby Whisperer)was found by the babes.

We even made some new friends! :)

There were thousands of MOPS in attendance.

We also got to shop at the MOPS resource fair...they were also giving away free items, like these band-aids with Bible verses on them!

A.D. won a prize from a book vendor at the Resource fair.



In one of our General Sessions, each row of MOPS packed a goodie box for Operation Christmas Child.  We prayed over the box, and it was filled to the brim with items for children in a country who doesn't know the love of Jesus.
